To visualize and understand the orchestration of macromolecular machines we use an arsenal of biophysical technologies such as advanced microscopy techniques, high-resolution structural methods, molecular modeling, but primarily cryo-electron tomography combined with machine learning techniques. These technologies we use to understand adhesion mechanisms in both eukaryotes and bacteria. To enable adhesion the cell develop intricate structures with complex architectures.
